The Birth of Goodness of Serenity
Sometimes it feels like yesterday when I launched Goodness of Serenity in September of 2022.
The purpose of creating this blog is simple: it’s to help you not only love self-care uniquely but also to help turn your self-care journey into a peaceful and serene adventure.
How so?
Well, I believe that self-care can have a huge and positive impact on mental health.
Additionally, my heart is set on showering you with the goodness that comes from prioritizing serenity in self-care because self-care can lead to a happier mindset.
Why I Started Goodness of Serenity
Here’s a little background story. My platform was birthed from a place of turmoil of navigating huge life changes.
Unfortunately, these changes didn’t produce anything good. Instead, I experienced so much difficulty that my mental health took the worst knock.
I felt like everything in my life was falling apart, and it was.
Eventually, I decided to pick up the pieces. And I must emphasize this, I didn’t find this path alone.
Even in those dark moments, the LORD was there.
Also, trying to find my way out was no walk in the park.
Eventually, I slowly stumbled into simple self-care practices, which were a way to learn how to be a good friend to myself amid difficulty.
From Burnout to Peace: My Journey
As I was slowly learning to love myself again, I was able to fully absorb the sweetness of self-care. Also, I developed a positive perspective towards it, too.
In the beginning, I believed self-care was all about striving for perfection- having everything figured out.
But that couldn’t be further from my truth. I then realized that I didn’t have to.
I could have a space where I could feel comfortable and just embrace it.
Mindset Shifts
While diving into the self-care space, I realized that one of my biggest stumbling blocks was my mindset.
Furthermore, negative mindsets and narratives were the enemy of my mental health, too. And believe me when I say that changing them was not sunshine and rainbows.
Also, society’s obsession with staying busy can be overwhelming and confusing.
As a result, self-care became my safe space.
This gave my mental health a boost like never before.
Now, I’m on a mission to inspire others to love with self-care uniquely.
How Self-Care Helped My Mental Health
After years of overcomplicating my life, I found bliss in simplicity. But then, I felt the desire to share this newfound wisdom with everyone.
This platform became a beacon for all those looking to simplify their lives and find inner peace.
Additionally, with God’s help, I saw how taking care of myself was one of many keys to healing. Likewise, self-care slowed me down and helped me to become present.
It became a gift to me that continues to keep on giving. Now I want to share that gift with you.
My Hope for You
My wish is that you learn to love yourself in sweeter and simpler ways.
I hope my blog becomes a gift for you as much as it was for me. I’m sure you have heard about self-care so many times.
